As has become typical in the Twilight world, the news is abounding about The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and its cast.
First things first, the US Weekly special entitled “The Sexy Stars of Twilight” apparently did so well that it absolutely had to be followed up with “The Sexy Stars of New Moon.” According to Twilighters Anonymous, the magazine is available for pre-order at present, but it will not ship until September 25th, 2009. You can find out more details about that here. Once again, Robert Pattinson commands the cover.
Others are speaking of Robert Pattinson, it seems, as well. Paul Wesley of the CW’s television series The Vampire Diaries had a few choice words about the actor as well in this video – and being compared to him.
Says Wesley, “Is it the hair? . . . I don’t know, I don’t know, I’m not sure but . . . I do know that women absolutely love him, so the idea of being compared to someone that women absolutely love is flattering.”
Also speaking of Pattinson, Catherine Hardwicke’s weekend words have turned the curious to archive-digging, and what emerged was this photograph of Pattinson with long hair extensions. As a reminder, she stated that when prepping Pattinson for his role as Edward Cullen initially, she wanted the character to have long, romantic hair, but after trying on the hair pieces suggested by Hardwicke, Pattinson simply said no. Glad that he did?
In the tradition of hair extensions (wigs in this case), Kristen Stewart’s post-The Runaways hair-do for the set of Eclipse proved to be quite the conversation-starter in today’s Twitter-fest. She was spotted by Lainey Gossip’s sources with on-screen mom Sarah Clarke filming outdoors for the Florida sequences.
Stewart was recently nominated in Spike TV’s “Best Actress in a Fantasy Movie or TV Show” category for Twilight. Twilight was also nominated for “Ultimate Scream Best Fantasy Movie,” and Pattinson was nominated for “Best Actor in a Fantasy Movie or TV Show.” Cam Gigandet was also nominated for “Best Villain.”
Speaking of Pattinson and Stewart, they are both among the stars that (recently announced official) contributor to The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack, Death Cab for Cutie, wants to see in their video for “Meet Me on the Equinox.” Said Death Cab’s bassist Nick Harmer to MTV, “I’m of the mind-set that the more Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner you can throw in the video, the more popular the video is going to be. Nobody wants to look at us, so we’ll probably be standing in the shadows.”
Speaking of the New Moon soundtrack, the Mitch Hansen Band (who was spotlighted at TwiCon 2009 and interviewed in July) was the focus of a recent MTV article.
Said MTV, “As impressive as arena-rockers like Paramore, Linkin Park and Thom Yorke may be, a vocal segment of the fanbase is hoping Summit will finally give a big break to a Twi-band and incorporate a song with lyrics about the tale of Edward and Bella into New Moon.” Below is their just-premiered video entitled “By You.” It is the one most vehemently pushed for by MHB to become a part of the New Moon soundtrack as it compliments the notion of the cliff-diving scene with Bella so well.
